**You Care Reminders — Terms of Service, Disclaimers & Liability Waiver (v1.2-2026-06)**
You Care Reminders is operated from the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
**1. Non-Medical Wellness Tool.** You Care Reminders is a wellness and lifestyle support tool only. It is **not** a medical device, medical service, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for any medical questions or emergencies.
**2. NOT FOR MEDICATION REMINDERS.** You Care Reminders is **not designed, intended, or fit for use as a medication reminder service.** We do **not** support, and **strongly advise against**, using You Care Reminders to prompt, time, dose, or otherwise manage medication of any kind. Automated reminders may be delayed, duplicated, mistimed, missed entirely, or sent in error due to network, carrier, third-party provider, software, or scheduling issues. **If you choose to use the service for medication-related prompts despite this warning, you do so entirely at your own risk, and You Care Reminders accepts no liability for any harm, injury, missed dose, duplicated dose, mistimed dose, or any other consequence arising from such use.** "Medication" categories have been removed from the product to reduce the likelihood of accidental misuse.
**3. No Activity, Health or Step Tracking.** You Care Reminders does **not** track steps, heart rate, sleep, falls, location, or any other health or fitness signal. We do not integrate with Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Oura, smart watches, or any other health or activity device. Do not rely on the service for any safety-critical monitoring.
**4. Not For Emergencies.** Do not use You Care Reminders to report, manage, or respond to medical or safety emergencies. In an emergency, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number immediately.
**5. No Delivery Guarantees.** Reminders are sent via third-party email and SMS providers. We do **not** guarantee delivery, timing, accuracy, ordering, or single-delivery of any reminder, alert, or notification. Network issues, carrier filtering, suppression, provider outages, and scheduling faults may delay, duplicate, or prevent delivery.
**6. Adaptive Content.** Reminder content is generated by AI and adapted to information you provide. While we aim for empathy and inclusivity, content may occasionally be imperfect. Review reminders before relying on them.
**7. Your Account & Acceptable Use.** You must be 18 or over to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential. You must not use the service unlawfully, to harass anyone, to send unsolicited bulk messages, or in any way that infringes another person's rights.
**8. Privacy & Consent.** You are responsible for obtaining the consent of any person whose contact details or care information you enter into the service. We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
**9. Subprocessors.** To run the service we rely on the following processors: our cloud hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our SMS provider (Twilio), and our payment processor (Stripe). We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
**10. Subscription & Billing.** Paid plans are billed in advance via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and no refunds are given for partial periods unless required by law. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
**11. Limitation of Liability.** To the maximum extent permitted by law, You Care Reminders's total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 12 months (or GBP £100, whichever is less). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, and (without limiting clause 2) we are not liable for any consequence of using the service for medication reminders.
**12. Termination.** We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that we reasonably believe present a safety, legal or security risk. You may close your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone, which deletes your data from live systems within 30 days.
**13. Governing Law & Disputes.** These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where consumer protection law applies, you keep all statutory rights as a consumer. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
**14. Changes.** We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product and continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
