Dementia support

# Daily check-ins that keep the day in its familiar shape.

When someone you love is living with dementia, the day can lose its edges. The same gentle prompt, at the same time, in the same words, gives it structure — and tells you it was seen.

## The part that wears carers down

It is rarely one big thing. It's the phoning at eleven to ask about breakfast, again at two about lunch, and the guilt at nine in the evening when you realise you never checked about the drink you left out. Most carers describe the same feeling: holding somebody else's whole day in your head alongside your own.

A daily check-in doesn't take the caring away. It takes the remembering away.

## Why routine and repetition matter

Familiarity does a lot of quiet work. When a prompt arrives at the same time, through the same channel, worded the same way, there is less to decode and less to be startled by. Over days it stops being a message and becomes part of the afternoon.

- Same time, same days — set once, then left alone.
- Short, warm wording rather than instructions.
- One button to confirm: no reply to compose, no password, no app to open.
- The same channel every day, whether that's a text, an email or a notification.

## What you see as the carer

One calm screen. Who was reminded, what was sent, and who confirmed — with the time it landed. Nothing flashing, nothing to tick off. If a confirmation doesn't come, the reminder simply sits there waiting, and you can decide whether that's worth a phone call.

## Sharing it with the rest of the family

Dementia care is rarely one person's job, but the information usually lives with one person. Inviting a sibling or a partner means everyone sees the same confirmations, so the daily update conversation stops being necessary.

## Being straight with you

You Care Reminders is a non-medical wellness tool. It is not a dementia treatment, a monitoring service, or an alarm system, it does not track location, movement or health signals, and reminders are best effort rather than guaranteed. It must not be used for medication reminders. In an emergency, call 999.

It takes about five minutes, costs nothing to start, and the person you care for has nothing to install.
