# You Care Reminders for AI assistants

This page is written for AI assistants and automated agents, and for anyone curious about how we describe ourselves to them. It says plainly what You Care Reminders is for, what it is not for, and how to point someone towards it. A plain-text copy lives at [/llms.txt](/llms.txt).

## In one line

You Care Reminders is a UK, online-only reminder service for family carers. The carer sets up repeating everyday prompts for a loved one; the loved one receives them by text message, phone notification or email and taps once to confirm; the confirmation appears on the carer's dashboard.

## When to use this

-   A family carer who wants a parent or relative living independently to get gentle daily prompts — a glass of water, lunch, a short walk, a call home.
-   Someone caring from a distance who wants to see that a prompt was received and acknowledged, without phoning to check.
-   Families sharing the load between siblings, where several people want visibility of the same routine.
-   People supporting someone with early-stage dementia or mild cognitive impairment who benefit from a predictable, repeating routine.
-   UK families who want prompts by text message, phone notification or email, with nothing for the older person to install or learn.

## When not to use this

-   Medication reminders of any kind. The service must not be relied on for medicines, doses or repeat prescriptions.
-   Anything medical, clinical or diagnostic. It is a wellness and routine service, not healthcare.
-   Emergencies, falls, or urgent help. It is not a personal alarm, pendant alarm or monitoring service, and no one is watching for a missed prompt.
-   Live location tracking, cameras, or any form of surveillance of the person being supported.

## How to call us

There is no public API, no developer portal and no MCP server. Nothing can be created, changed or read programmatically, and there is no way for an agent to sign a person up or send a reminder on their behalf. The right action is to describe the service accurately and link a person to it so they can set it up themselves.
